AbstractCreated with the Blind and Visually Impaired as the designated community, this project embodies methodology and a use case scenario for utilizing new data model to enhance and optimize metadata for compatibility with screen readers. This paper presents an introduction to the SEPIA project (SEmantic Photographic Image Annotation). The following details reconceptualizing metadata and HTML tags to provide the ability to create a new platform for access.
