AbstractThis paper presents results from the analysis of data collected during a 3-year user-oriented longitudinal and empirical on-line evaluation of the use of the Dublin Core metadata creation tool within the Nordic DC Metadata Project. The paper is concerned with how humans create metadata. In particular, the paper explores different categories of requirements. The evaluation is part of an on-going design process of the metadata creation tool and inform on valuable issues to be considered in the future design process.
