Exploratory Analysis of Metadata Edit Events in the UNT Libraries' Digital Collections Tarver, Hannah Phillips, Mark metadata creation metadata editors edit events benchmarks editing activities This paper presents the results of an exploratory analysis of edit events performed on records in the University of North Texas Libraries’ Digital Collections during calendar year 2014.  By comparing the amount of time that editors worked on records for certain item types and collections, we were able to isolate different categories of activities (“creating” vs. “editing”) and to generalize rough benchmarks for expected editing durations depending on project criteria.
